We had the tortilla dip share plate, short ribs sharer, grilled oysters, bone marrow and ribs eye taco. Every single dish was a sensual pleasure - visually appealing and great taste. The beef was so good, we literally licked the platter clean. The spice levels are tantalizing and is a taste to remember. They do a mini cake if we want to celebrate an event. If you’re visiting with kids or large groups, I would recommend the churro cart. The churros were fresh and tasted just right. A small feedback I have for the wonderful team at Porfirio’s: when you bring out the cake for little kids I would recommend making it not as loud as you do for adults. Our child got a little scare with the claps, whistles, flaming candle and everything together :) and was silent for a while. That said, our waiters did an excellent job, waiting on us diligently and making sure we were always attended to. Highly recommend, would definitely revisit when back to Mexico!

Food was ok, a little steep on prices and not a lot on the menu to offer. I've been to porfirios before but for whatever reason it was bland. I had the shrimp which they did a little fire show to present it, but in my opinion it over cooked the shrimp. Waiter was attentive, did not have reservations on a Friday night and still got in. My husband had the steak, it was good, but missing seasoning.

Went for our 30th anniversary.The place is nice, and staff were friendly and the food was good as well, but some odd quirks.Firstly way too many waiting staff, I counted 18 on the floor at one point! each table had a waiter and an assistant to that waiter, then there were managers walking around...litterally the staff were bumping into each other and honestly it added a sense of confusion rather than expedient service. We saw our main guy a couple times but mainly his assistant, all very friendly and knowledgable about the menu and drinks list.Decor...very nice in general, booth and table seating, modern beamed ceilings but then large TVs on the walls, club music in the background(not loud but didn't fit in my opinion)...wasn't sure what it was meant to be, a sports bar or a restaurant?As an ex restaurateur I would suggest the management take a good look at who their target market is. I scanned the room and saw at least 80% of their clientele were over 50, I'd say less tv's more ambience.Now the food.It was good, appetizers, excellent (huge) I suggest you share one. We had mango and salmon civiche and melted cheese with shrimp. We were almost full after these!Main courses again great portions we had the sharing pork and pineapple on a mini rotisserie carved at the table.And because I had mentioned our anniversary we got a nice sparkler lit cake at the end (it wasn't very good at all flavour wise) but a nice thoughtful touch.Drinks: Amazing, best cocktails of our 3 week trip to PV, I'd go back just for them. My favourite was the Tamarind and Mezcal drink wow!I would go again, but not for a romantic evening.

The staffing is great!The food I give it a 3/5. If you add their salsa, it'll make it a 4.2/5. The salmon was plain, and the corn was too salty. The Surf and Turf was a 3/5 but tasted better with the salsa. The chips were pretty good with the salsa!

Huge disappointment!I was excited to celebrate my birthday at this location, I saw at their social media the mexican ambience. But sadly, all that they post it’s just marketing, any food was served as the pictures posted. The flavour of the food doesn’t taste as mexican at all, small portions.The service is poor, our server couldn’t recommend any wine/drinks, because she didn’t know about it.The mariachi scheduled didn’t arrive.

The best part of our visit to Porfirios was the service. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great dining experience and their birthday surprise was wonderful. The food was okay, kind of bland. The recipes needed something to brighten them up and the hot sauces and salsa's were pretty dull as well. We may have ordered the wrong dishes to get the good flavours. The music was way too loud - our seats were vibrating from the bass. It was an interesting dining experience and I'm glad we did it, but we have definitely had better meals in PV.

enjoyed this place a couple of times. Nice suckling pig, beef tacos, grilled bone marrow, crispy baby squid, octopus carpaccio, grilled oysters to name a few. Good service to boot

Great food. Excellent service and interesting atmosphere. Not an every day kind of restaurant. But excellent when’s you need a quick bite.

Never saw our waiter again after he took our order. AscI ordered a couple things on the menu were no longer available. Our order was wrong when it arrived. We asked for another bottle of water when food was delivered and it never came. Other than the manager coming by when the brought the correct food, no one even came to the table for me to get more water. Had to ask repeatedly for the check and finally got up and went to the bar to get it. There were a lot of staff working the room however after the service was very poor. Lots of funding about, the manager yelling at the other manager on the floor. AND no working restroom.

Unbelievable! The food was great, as well as the service. I had the best oysters ever and thier cheesecake was awesome. Service was great. The tables around us ordered food which was flambeau at thier table, so we were able to enjoy the show. We are hoping to get back again before we fly home.

From the moment you walk in you know it's going to be good. From the atmosphere, music and service all the way to the presentation and flavor of the food everything was excellent. We tried just about every cocktail because we couldn't get enough of the whimsical presentations. We explored a wide variety of items from the menu by sharing all dishes. Start to finish everything was Delicious, Fun and a true Experience.

The level of customer service is excellent. Other restaurants in the area should take note. From the moment we arrived our waiter Adad made sure we were taken care of. Our hotel recommended Porfirio’s for dinner and we were so pleasantly surprised. Service, atmosphere, and food was amazing. They had plenty of recommendations for us depending on our taste preferences and I even tried mezcal again after swearing it off. So tasty. The Adelita (I think if I’m remembering the name correctly).I don’t know if I’d go there more than once in a trip because it is a little pricier than surrounding restaurants, but definitely at least once a trip and/or for special occasions. It was worth it for us. Our server, Adonai, and Reyes were super attentive and just overall had great personalities. More than just a server for our evening and it was perfect.We had the beef tacos with marrow and the tenderloin with marrow sauce along with the guava cheesecake dessert. Portions were just right for dinner and dessert was shareable! We finished with a complimentary wafer!

We came for the first time to Porfirio’s PV for the first time, we’ve been at the Cancun location and Playa del carmen and everything from the food is been exceptional, However PV fall short on the service from the entrance the Hostess never great us, she never acknowledged us, even tough we had a reservation, she decided to prioritize another couple before us,and we were ahead of them on the line after we got to the table waiter started ok but then there was a lack of follow up,If we were ok, not recommendations from the waiter and they never came to clean my table, between meals.However Food was phenomenal.!!!And the mariachi exquisite

If you’re staying at any of the neighboring hotels and hating the buffet food - listen to me and go here. The atmosphere is amazing, the food is incredible, and the value for money is great. This place made our trip. Thank you Porfirio’s!
